AFIF — Protecting Innocence

End-to-end UX/UI design for a child safety app that lets parents monitor their children's online activity, location, and device health in real time.

Context

AFIF is a parental monitoring app built for Egyptian families navigating the risks of children's internet use. The name and mission are direct: protecting innocence. Parents can monitor multiple children from a single dashboard — tracking location, battery level, screenshots, and receiving real-time warnings when something needs attention.

The project was designed in Egypt in 2023, covering the full product scope from logo and brand identity through to high-fidelity UI screens for both the parent and child-facing sides of the app.

Understanding the Users

AFIF has two distinct user types who interact with the same underlying system very differently:

  • Parents / supervisors — need a clear, scannable dashboard to monitor multiple children at once, act on warnings quickly, and configure supervision settings without friction
  • Children — see a minimal app that shows their supervision status and lets them respond to requests; the experience should feel safe and non-threatening

The Logo

The logomark is a stylized "A" with a flowing leaf or wing shape cutting through it — a visual balance between protection and freedom. Rendered in a green gradient, it signals safety, growth, and calm. The icon works across both light and dark backgrounds, and scales cleanly from app icon size down to small UI contexts.

The Parent Dashboard

The supervisees screen is the heart of the app for parents. It surfaces the most critical signals at a glance — battery level, location status (within range / out of range), and screenshot count — for each child in the list. Color coding immediately draws the eye to anything that needs attention: a red battery or an "out of range" flag reads as urgent without requiring the parent to dig into a detail view.
